In the words of Goethe, “Ambition and love are the wings to great deeds”.

I am not sure if this is correct, but certainly judging from the feedback received and the contacts on our pages, the success of this initiative is truly impressive.
We are delighted to feel a certain responsibility to furnish you with a quality product.
There are a number of different plans at play: collaborations with different Universities, various orthodontic associations, study groups, and solo practitioners.
The results of these different plans will become clear this winter. At the same time, we are in the process of putting together an International Scientific Committee.
The Virtual Journal of Clinical Orthodontics is by now a known reality and appreciated in the international orthodontic community.

For those of you who are interested in statistics, there have been over 800 monthly contacts on the home page, 55 pieces of mail, and about 60 international links.
These may seem like small numbers when compared to other general web pages.
However, when you consider the specificity of such a journal and the individuals who can use this information, i.e. orthodontists, then these numbers are actually large.

In the second number of the VJCO the “case report data bank” will be started.
Within the case reports there will be an internal search engine indexed for key words.
This archive of clinical cases will function as a pilot project for a larger European data base of clinical cases.
In closing, if Goethe was correct, since we are not lacking in love for orthodontics, and we are not lacking ambition, there remains no obstruction in successfully flying towards the VJCO project.

Thank you all.
